PhD students are welcome to attend Woolston Lab group meetings to learn more about our research and culture. These are on Wednesdays, from 10:30-11:30am in CN-172, and consist of seminar-style research talks, literature review, and other group discussions.
Before talking with Prof. Woolston, you should read several of our recent papers to learn more about the work we do and what projects most interest you. Coming to our first meeting with questions about what you've read is a great way to start the conversation.
A few years ago, Prof. Woolston gave a talk in the Synthtetic Biology Young Speaker Series (SynBYSS), which was recorded and available here. It's a little out of date now, but the core principles of the lab haven't changed.
